Fay O. Pappas

Fay O. Pappas is a native Floridian who obtained her undergraduate degree with honors from Rollins College in her hometown of Winter Park, Florida. Ms. Pappas knew from an early age she wanted to help others. While an undergraduate, she pursued her passion for justice by tackling such issues as homelessness in the City of Orlando, access to healthcare for farmworkers around contaminated Lake Apopka, and proposed ways to reduce violent crime amongst Florida's youth. For her demonstrated commitment to public service, she was named a United States Presidential fellow with the Center for the Study of the Presidency in Washington, D.C., and a national finalist for the Harry S. Truman Scholarship for Public Service, among other accolades. Ms. Pappas continued her pursuit for justice in law school at the University of Florida where she graduated with honors. Her activities there garnered her recognition from the Florida Bar as a Public Service Fellow for two consecutive years. During that time, Ms. Pappas also served as an editor of the Florida Law Review. She received the Honorable George C. Carr Memorial Merit Scholarship and the Dunspaugh-Dalton Foundation Merit Scholarship for her academic achievements.

Following graduation, she returned to her hometown to turn her passion for others into her career. Practicing in the areas of wrongful death, medical malpractice, serious auto-accident, products liability, and nursing home abuse, Ms. Pappas has experience handling scores of matters from initial consultation through trial state-wide. She is an active member of Central Florida Association of Women Lawyers, the Central Florida Trial Lawyers Association, and the Florida Justice Association. She is also a graduate of the Al J. Cone Trial Advocacy Institute. Ms. Pappas has authored two legal works: Wrong Means to an Unjust End? A Comment on the Eleventh Circuit's Decision in First Vagabonds Church of God, 64 Fla. L. Rev. (July 2012), and Gulf Coast Blowout: How the BP Oil Spill is Corroding Communities and What Attorneys & Policy-Makers Must do to Stop It, 22 U. Fla. J. L. & Pub. Pol'y (August 2011).

In her free time, she enjoys the outdoors and spending time with her family and friends.
