Biography Overview

Since graduating from Duke University with his law degree in 1990, Jay has successfully represented well over 1,000 clients as a trial attorney. Jay began his legal career practicing transactional law and general civil litigation. However, he soon realized that he wanted to represent people, rather than businesses, and made the transition to a plaintiff’s firm practicing personal injury and wrongful death. While at the firm Parrish, Bailey & Morsch, P.A., Jay began a workers’ compensation practice to complement the personal injury and wrongful death practice areas. He has practiced exclusively in the areas of workers’ compensation, personal injury and wrongful death since March of 1992. Jay developed his skills as an advisor, counselor, advocate and negotiator representing clients against the nation’s most powerful multi-billion dollar insurance companies.

In addition being a principal in Bailey Fisher, PLLC, Jay is President of MJ Sports Management, a firm that represents NFL athletes. Jay has proven invaluable to MJ Sports Management clients through his guidance in workers’ compensation and injury grievance issues. He has also utilized his business education, including a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Emory University, and dispute resolution skills to reach lucrative player contract agreements for his clients. Jay has been certified by the NFL Players Association as a Contract Advisor since January 1999. He also serves as the firm’s chief contract negotiator and NFL Collective Bargaining Agreement specialist.

Jay was named in Super Lawyers magazine as one of the top attorneys in the State of Florida in 2010 and 2011. Jay is currently a member of the Florida Bar Association, the Orange County Bar Association, the Florida Justice Association, the American Association for Justice and the NFL Alumni Association. Additionally, Jay is a member of the Workers’ Compensation and Trial Lawyers Sections of the Florida Bar Association.

Community

Jay enjoys giving back to his community and contributes his time and resources to organizations such as the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the National Brain Tumor Society, and the Congregation of Reform Judaism. Jay and his firm also supports Florida Citrus Sports, New Hope for Kids, The Boys and Girls Club, Hospice of the Comforter, The March of Dimes, Ronald McDonald House, The American Diabetes Association, Mustard Seed, the Jewish Community Center, Shepherd’s Hope, the Anthony Robbins Foundation, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, Winter Park Day Nursery, and the Maitland Little League.

Outside of the office, Jay enjoys spending time with his wife, Wendy, and their two sons, Scott and Jack. Jay is an avid sports fan and often pretends to have a golf game.
